Spinning the rack scanning row after row, I keep searching. Jane, Jill, Jo…..I’m getting closer. I just know I’m going to get that personalized key chain I’ve wanted all of my eight years of life. There it is. Wait. My name isn’t spelled J.O.D.Y.
Oh, time after time as a child I felt defeated that I could not find a personalized pencil, gaudy cup or Christmas ornament that had my name spelled correctly. For the record, my name is spelled J.O.D.I.E.
As kids, we love to see our name in print. Imagine finding a book with your name inside. Thanks to the folks at MarbleSpark who are sponsoring this post, you can!
Perfect timing for the holidays, we received ‘Twas the Mouse who Saved Christmas by Philip Haussler and Brad Sneed. Starting on the cover, my son’s name was playfully included on toy block letters. But that was just the start of the personalized journey.
Santa’s list gets ripped and as that torn piece is revealed to us, we see my son’s name again. Pipp the mouse tries to write the name back on the list which is super cute to see a mouse write your child’s name.
The name gets revealed in the illustrations again in block letters on Santa’s sleigh dashboard, on a stocking and a note left by Santa. Plus, the name is sprinkled through the text too.
We’ve established that the book is highly personalized, BUT it is also a super cute story.
Pipp the mouse is enticed by a sweet smell and ventures out into Santa’s office right where the jolly man has fallen asleep making his list. When the cat startles Pipp, she has to make a quick getaway. In the process, she rips the last name off of Santa’s list. After a few failed attempts, she hops aboard Santa’s sleigh determined to make sure Santa sees the missing name. Pipp succeeds and helps recover that missing name.
My son not only enjoyed see and hearing his name throughout the story, but he loved the story itself. And, MarbleSpark has two other books that can be personalized including Following Featherbottom and God Whispered Your Name.
I would have been thrilled to find this book made just for me when I was a kid. Brighten a child’s holiday with a personalized book that has been customized just for him or her. Which one do you think your child would like to unwrap?
