Storybook Activities

It’s so fun to take books for kids and gather inspiration for creative activities.  Today, I’m sharing a round-up of storybook activities from Jill at Enchanted Homeschooling Mom.  You may remember Jill from when Family Dinner Book Club started. She helped contribute to the table crafts for several months.

There are so many goodies on Enchanted Homeschooling Mom‘s site.  Let’s look at some of the literacy related gems.

Storybook Activities

As I mentioned above, Jill used to work with us on Family Dinner Book Club.  One of my favorite table craft decoration posts she did was for The Days the Crayons Quit.

Samantha from Stir the Wonder has created some amazing sensory bin experiences for Enchanted Homeschooling Mom. You’ll find bins for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, The Gruffalo and more!

Each month Jill hosts a virtual book club around a different theme called Poppins Book Nook.  Lots of bloggers join and share ideas for books and activities centered around the particular topic.

I had the pleasure of guest posting on Enchanted Homeschooling Mom.  Check out the science activity that I shared to compliment the book, Sneezy the Snowman.

For a math activity see this idea to go along with the book Counting Crows.

You may have done author studies, but have you ever tried an illustrator study?  Jill has a series called Storybook Artists. Eric Carle is just one of the illustrators you can learn about on her site.

Jill is dealing with some health issues currently that are taking her away from her work.  The wonderful bloggers of the Kid Blogger Network have teamed up to share some of the great resources Jill has to offer.  Please check out all the goodness!
