It is part 4 of 6 in our summer long superhero summer reading adventure series!

Every week,  I share activities based on a super read-aloud title.  This is the perfect project if you are looking for hands-on ideas to do with the kids that are connected to great books.

Check back each Friday for a new book and list of activities that you can do with your kids this summer.  The ideas will work great for the 3-8 year-old age group.

Superhero Summer Reading Book and Activities

Book

The Bravest Dog Ever: The True Story of Balto is our featured book this week.  This true adventure story takes us on the journey of one brave dog who makes his way through a snow storm to pull a sled team.  His determination helps get medicine to sick children.

It’s a fun cool read on a hot day!

Activities

Try these fun and playful activities throughout the week to build and reinforce skills.

Build a Sled

Let the kids build their own sled.  Here is a guide to get you started.

Make Snow

Make your own play snow for some sensory play!

Ice Sculptures

Part science and part art… These ice sculptures will be a cool activity.
