Setting Up the Alphabet Memory Game

Download (see below for free printable) and print the party hats and balloon cards.  Cut along the dotted lines.

You may choose to laminate and/or print the cards on cardstock for durability.

Playing the Alphabet Memory Game

alphabet memory game sheets

Play a traditional matching game by turning all the letter cards face down in rows.

Children take turns flipping a pair of cards trying to find a letter match.

If a match (uppercase and lowercase) is found, they get to keep the pair and take a second turn.

The person with the most matches at the end wins.

Differentiating the Alphabet Memory Game

-Invite students to lay out the uppercase cards.  Then, match the lowercase letter cards by placing them on top of the party hat cards.

-Use the cards to sequence the letters in ABC order.

-Show a card and then have the students find the letter that comes next.
