Circle Time Week Schedule
Start each day with a call to the carpet song. Everyone needs to be seated and ready to start by the time the song stops playing.
Circle time needs to be short so keep things going. This week there are three parts.
- Sing-Along/Chant- farm theme song
- Read-Aloud- farm theme book appropriate for a whole group read-aloud
- Early Literacy Activity- activity tied to the theme, read-aloud, or sing-along/chant
Skill Focus: identifying beginning sounds, clapping word parts/syllables, writing your name, identifying and generating rhyming words
Day 1
Call to the Carpet Song: “Welcome to the Farm” by Bounce Patrol
Sing-Along/Chant: Down by the Farm
Down by the Farm is to the tune, “Down by the Bay.” It is a fun and silly song to work on listening for and generating rhymes.
On the first day sing a few times substituting rhyming pairs.
