Preparing the Activity
Materials needed: [easyazon_link identifier=”1609965418″ locale=”US” tag=”groboobyboo-20″]toy shark[/easyazon_link], set of [easyazon_link identifier=”B004YQ31AW” locale=”US” tag=”groboobyboo-20″]ocean stickers[/easyazon_link], the words to the song (see below)
Set out a sheet of ocean themed stickers on the table with the toy shark. Learn the song below. It’s a simple tune that you are already familiar with singing. Easy peasy! You are ready to play.
Sing and Playing
Tell the child that you have a fun shark-themed song to sing and that we will be working on beginning sounds as we sing.
Name the different items on the ocean themed sticker sheet together. Model isolating the beginning sound of different objects. For example, “This is a fish. Fish begins with the /f/ sound.”
Now, sing the song below. Insert a letter sound to match and object on the page. Have your child take his shark and pretend to chomp the corresponding item on the sheet.

Repeat over and over until the shark is full.
