Luli and the Language of Tea by Andrea Wang is the story of a little girl who sees a problem and comes up with a solution. She knows that gathering around a pot of tea is a way to build community in her classroom.

Grandy thinks he and his Frannie are headed out for TEE time on the golf course. And, Frannie thinks she and Grandy are headed out for a TEA party. Frannie is a little alarmed that her tea party next to the hole is destroyed by an incoming golf ball. But, Grandy takes Frannie to the clubhouse for tea for two to solve the dilemma. Tea With Grandpa by Barney Saltzberg is the story of a grandchild and grandfather who share tea together virtually. We can even have tea parties when we are separated from the ones we love.
Phoebe Dupree Is Coming to Tea by Linda Ashman is all about prepping for the tea party. Abby has invited Phoebe over for a tea party. And, she wants everything to be perfect because she perceives Phoebe to be perfect. But, plans never go perfectly and that is perfectly ok. Because true fun comes when things don’t go exactly according to plan. Phoebe and Abby have a grand time.
Tea Party in the Woods by Akiko Miyakoshi is the story of a daughter trying to catch up with her father who forgot the pie to take to grandma’s house. Through the woods she goes when she stumbles across a woodland tea party.
Smells of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves drift in the air. Time to get in line for a cup of chai. Now, I’ve never had a cup of chai, but after reading this book I 100% want to try it. Bonus, if I could get that cup of chai from Chaiwala’s cart!
Chaiwala! by Priti Birla Maheshwari is a warm delight. After they get off at their train stop, a young girl and her mother get in line for a cup of chai. As they wait in line, we get to explore all the sights, sounds, and smells of things they are experiencing around them in India.
Teatime Around the World by Denyse Waissbluth is one of my favorite tea-related books. Did you know that it is common to add yak butter to tea in Tibet? Or, that pulled tea is the national drink in Malaysia? This book is filled with interesting tidbits that only enhance the read-aloud experience.

- The finger foods can be placed on fancy platters and if you have it a nice teapot and teacups include those too.
- A nice tablecloth and cloth napkins can also elevate your dinner.
- Take a walk in the neighborhood and cut a little greenery and gather a few pinecones for table decorations.
