The talented bloggers from the Kid Blogger Network have teamed up to bring you the very best craft, educational and parenting posts of 2014. This post is full of awesome ideas that you will want to pin to read and do!

This week I’ve shared the reader favorites from 2014 and the most viewed posts in 2014 on Growing Book by Book.  Today, I’m  sharing a literacy activity with you that was a favorite of mine from 2014.

If you are a regular reader of Growing Book by Book, you know that my boys love to play with cars and trucks.  I’m always looking for ways to incorporate literacy learning into their play.

We came up with Are We There Yet? Maps when we were preparing for a trip to Kentucky this past summer.  They played and learned with these almost all the way there!  It’s a fun way to learn about environmental print, tracking and vocabulary.  You just might want to make this for your next trip in the car!
