INSTRAGRAMMERS TO FOLLOW FOR BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
Great Instagram accounts to follow that share books for kids.

I have a love/hate relationship with social media.  It’s a big time suck for me, but I love all the new discoveries that I make and connecting with so many great people.  One of my favorite places to hang out is on Instagram especially for book recommendations.

Picture Book of the Day has returned for another season on Instagram!  Each day (Monday-Friday), a great team of bookstagramers shares an awesome picture book you will want to check out.

INSTRAGRAMMERS TO FOLLOW FOR BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

There are over 20ish talented bookstagrammer who pick the best of the best picture books to share with you daily. Today, I thought I’d share a behind the scenes look at this year’s Picture Book of the Day team and introduce you to the 20+ talented bloggers who make this project happen!

Plus they each share their favorite children’s book read aloud and a read aloud tip!

First, a little history lesson….  Picture Book of the Day was created by Bethany from No Twiddle Twaddle. Not only did she come up with the idea but, she also assembled a great group of people to work together on the project.  Bethany asked me to take over for her and I was thrilled to carry the torch. Each day, a different bookstagrammer selects a high-quality picture book to showcase.

So, who are these great bloggers involved in the project?  Let’s meet each of them!

Too many choices! In terms of a new 2020 book, I rather like Jessica Hische’s Tomorrow I’ll Be Kind. I love the idea of teaching kids tomorrow is a new day to be a better person.

Your Name Is A Song by Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow

I love this book because it will help teacher honor their students and families by learning to say their names correctly! I had a difficult last name growing up and my oldest daughter has a hard to pronounce name. It speaks to me for my students, my daughter and myself.
