Show and tell is probably one of the most popular activities that increases family involvement.  Take this favorite activity and add a big dose of literacy and you have a rocking show and tell idea!

I’ve got everything you need to make your own show and tell take home bag and get the program up and running in your classroom.

Getting Started with a Literacy Show and Tell

Materials to Create Show and Tell Take Home Bag

  • Canvas bag with handles or other tote
  • Fabric pens, paint, or makers
  • Hole Puncher
  • Direction tag (free printable included)- laminate for durability

Other Show and Tell Things to Prep

1.Make copies of the Show & Tell letter (free printable included) for each family to send home.

2.Create a schedule (free printable included) for each family to send home. Also, post one copy in the classroom.

3.Decide on a time for Show & Tell each week.
