Babies and toddlers love to look at books and see real pictures of people, places, and things in their world.  When I look back at some of my boys’ favorite books at that age, the ones with photographs top the list. This list of multicultural books for babies and toddlers is sure to be a hit with all little ones!

FAVORITE MULTICULTURAL BOOKS FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS

All of the titles in this list feature photographs of children from various cultures.

I adore this series from The Global Fund for Children.  Global Babies is one of my favorites.  The photographs are amazing and the brief text includes the country that the child is from on each page. There is also Global Baby Girls and Global Baby Boys.

Hugs & Kisses by Roberta Grobel Intrater is a simple rhyming book featuring caregivers and their babies embracing and kissing.  You will also find more Baby Faces books in the series.

Carry Me by Rena Grossman looks at all the different ways babies are carried around the world.

Reach: a board book about curiosity is also part of a series by Elizabeth Verdick.  The interesting thing about this book is that the photographs are black and white and the text is in color.  In Reach, we learn about all the things that babies likes to reach for as they grow.

Beautiful Rainbow World by Suzee Ramirez is the only one on this list that is not a board book.  However, it’s simple song text and beautiful photographs warrant a spot on this list.

Shades of Black by Sandra Pinkney doesn’t just have beautiful photographs.  It is full of beautiful poetic text!  I love this book!

Lots of Feelings by Shelley Rotner would work for toddlers and preschoolers to help them learn about feelings.  There are multiple pictures on each page of this book.

Cradle Me by Debby Slier is a look at how different Native American tribes cradle their babies.
