Do you want your kids to grow into well-read people who love to create and serve others?
That is what I want for my boys!
I want my kids to be kind and serve others throughout the year, not just when a holiday season approaches. To be more intentional about exploring these character traits, I decided that we would do monthly service projects as a family.
Read, Create & Share: A Year of Growing with Young Children is a step by step guide how we spent a year reading, creating and sharing with others.

CREATE
After reading a themed book, there is a creative project to complete. Sometimes you might be cooking a yummy treat. Other times you might be making a piece of art. All projects are hands-on, fun and full of learning. Recipes and complete directions are included for each monthly Create project.
SHARE
The last and most important component is the sharing piece. Each month your kids will take their creation that was made in the create step to a local group, charity or person in need. Ideas for who to share with are included each month.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the experiences take?
Each Read, Create, and Share set is meant to take place over the course of a month. Start by getting the book and sharing it with your children multiple times. Introduce the Create and Share experiences at the beginning of the month and set dates for completing each. Many of the create experiences that require cooking and baking will need to be paired very closely with the Share experience. Craft and art experiences can be spaced out from the Share experience. The Create experiences can be done in one session. The Share experience is also one session.
Are the experiences geared for a specific age level?
The suggestions in this book are geared towards 3-8 year-old children. However, they can easily be adapted for older children.
What if the Share suggested organization isn’t in our community?
Efforts were made to ensure that the organizations suggested are easily accessible for most. In case the main organization listed isn’t available in your area, I have provided alternative organizations from which to choose.
