reading log for fall

I’m not a huge fan of reading logs where you have to track pages read, title, author, etc.  It’s boring.  But, I am a fan of seasonal challenges that introduce students to new books and encourage families to have fun reading together.  In fact, I have a whole post on monthly reading challenges at Growing Book by Book.  Today, I bring you the scarecrow reading log sheet.

How to Use the Printable Scarecrow Sheet

This scarecrow challenge is easy peasy!

Just print a copy for each student and their family.  There are two sheets.

examples of printables of reading logs

The first is the scarecrow in the pumpkin patch.  Here students can color in a pumpkin for every book they enjoy throughout the month of October or November.  There are also plenty of extra decorations to color too.

The second sheet is a book list of suggested fall-time reads.  This is for families who would like to enjoy some fall reads.  They can look for these books at their libraries.

See…easy peasy!
