Have you ever done a reading challenge? When used the right way, reading challenges can be fun and encourage reading with children. For each month of the year, I have a reading challenge that will encourage children and their families to read wonderful books.
All of these reading challenges work for the classroom, library, or home.

Leigh says
Hi,
About the Halloween bingo — we used this challenge in October and enjoyed finding and reading books in the categories, but we were a bit confused about the black square and orange square — we did not know what Kind of books fit these squares. We were also confused by the bottom Right corner. What is this supposed to be.
Despite our confusion we did have fun with this challenge, especially because some friendly Halloween spirit left us books — not everyday, but at random, we would find a Halloween book hanging on a door knob.
Jodie Rodriguez says
Thanks for your feedback, Leigh. The orange and black colors are just to read a book with a mostly orange or black background on the cover. The bottom right corner is read a book that has a pumpkin treat in it (pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, etc.) Or simply to have a cookie treat while enjoying a book would work too!
