GETTING THE TURKEY RHYMING ACTIVITY READY
Materials needed: brown play dough, feathers and rhyme sheet (free printable below)
- Set the play dough and feathers out on the work surface.
- Print the rhyme sheet and have it available near the work area.
READY TO PLAY THE TURKEY RHYMING ACTIVITY
Have the kids build a featherless turkey with the play dough. It can be a 2D or 3D model.
Read the first rhyme to the kids and have them say the rhyming counting word that completes the rhyme.
The kids then count out that same number of feathers and add them to the turkey.
Either take the feathers off the turkey for the next section of the rhyme or make a new turkey. Repeat until you complete all the sections.
Here is the rhyme. You can also download it for FREE with a cute graphic.

Thanks for the rhyme. You won’t believe how long it took me to notice that was a paint brush. Jada pointed it out and I told her no it wasn’t.
