The start of a new school year can bring a level of anxiety for kids who are starting school for the first time, moving to a new school or just adjusting to a new classroom.

Sometimes as parents, we write letters to teachers sharing information we want them to know about our children.  And, teachers will often send home a letter introducing themselves to your family.  But, when do we let the kids share?

A back to school letter that the kids can write to their new teacher. A great idea for making kids feel empowered to hear their voice heard.

Help children feel empowered by letting them share what they want their new teacher to know about them.

This template can be completed by kids on their own if they are writing or younger students can dictate what they would like to be written.

A back to school letter for kids to write to their teacher

Let your child mail the letter to the teacher or hand deliver it to the school.

Kids will now feel that they had the opportunity to make their voice heard.  They get to share things they are excited about, things that make them nervous, subjects they love and questions they might have about their new classroom.
