Alphabet Activity Skills
This activity works on beginning sounds (except for /x/) for the 21 consonants. The pack has been recently updated to include all sounds except for the vowels a,e,i,o, and u. The sound of /x/ is represented as the final sound of words instead of the beginning sound.
Alphabet Lines Set-Up
Print out the alphabet printables and laminate for durability if you choose. You’ll need a toy train or other small token to “ride” each line.
How to Play the Alphabet Lines
You’ll need a toy train or other small token to “ride” each line. Place your vehicle at one end of the line. As you move down the line, name each picture listening for and identifying the beginning sound. Proceed through as many letter lines as you wish.

I teach special ed and we have read aloud time twice a day. Although my students are Emerging readers, they love LISTENING to the stories. We have fun acting out the story. My class loves all of the games, crafts, and activities that extend the book and teach valuable skills. Thank you so much for your FANTASTIC ideas and DEDICATION to the love of reading.
