Aaron Reynolds has this wildly popular Creepy Tales series with some awesome illustrations by Peter Brown.
In Creepy Carrots! we meet Jasper Rabbit who loves carrots, especially from Crackenhopper Field. In fact, he gets them from there quite often. Then, one day those carrots start to plague him. They are everywhere- in his shower, in his bedroom, lurking on the hill as he walks. Or are they? Well, Jasper Rabbit has a plan to keep those carrots away from him.

Get ready to extend the story with these book activities. All you need is the free printable provided (see below), a pair of scissors, crayons or markers, and a laminator if desired.
Activity 1: Put the Carrots in the Patch
Skill: Beginning Sounds
Crackenhopper Field (page 3) only grows carrots that begin with the sound /k/. Place only the /k/ sound carrots (page 4) in the patch/field.
Activity 2: Beginning Sound Carrot Match
Skill: Matching Beginning Sounds with Letters
Match the carrot letter to the image that begins with that letter/sound. (pages 5-9)
Activity 3: Make a Creepy Carrot
Skill: Fine Motor
Design your own creepy carrot (page 10) and then write your name on the line.
