Growing Book by Book turns 3 tomorrow!  It has been a year of tremendous growth and opportunities for me.  Just this week I’ve hit the 50,000 page views per month milestone!  Time to give some updates, shout-outs and announcements.  AND, to celebrate turning 3, I have some fun giveaways for you too!

Big Thank You

There have been so many wonderful people who have helped Growing Book by Book this year.  I’m so grateful to all who have helped me learn and grow.

Kid Blogger Network and Learn to Blog Hangouts– I learn things daily from these lovely people.

My Editor (and biggest cheerleader)- My editor, my mom, reads every one of my posts to check for clarity and grammatical errors.  She is a life-saver!

The Year in Review

Growing Book by Book continues to grow!  Our Facebook page grew to over 5,000 “Likes” this year.  It’s a great way to connect with our community on a daily basis.  Have you clicked the “like” button? Please head here and check!  We have some great conversations each day on Facebook about literacy and I also share lots of links to reading, writing and communicating ideas.

I love Pinterest and was honored to be a Parents Magazine 2014 Social Media Awards- Best on Pinterest Finalist this year!  I’ve created some really fun new boards (Storybook Lunches  and Book Inspired Costume Ideas) on Pinterest.   Pinterest continues to be the biggest referrer to my blog and I am so truly grateful.   This past year, my page went from 2,500 followers to over 10,000 this week!  Come and follow along with one or all of my 88 boards.  Here are a few of my most popular boards related to literacy.

Tips for Reading with Newborns to Age 5–  This post has been viewed over 30,000 times!

Muffin Tin Reading Games–  This one tops the list every year.  It was one of my very first posts and is still one of my most popular.

Magnetic Alphabet Games–  This one is high on the list and it’s the newest one.

I want to thank all of you for reading this blog each week.  It’s so rewarding to know that I’m inspiring others to nurture our youngest readers.  I look forward to sharing lots of great literacy ideas with you in the future.   I always value your input and encourage you to contact me anytime!  I want to make sure that I’m meeting your needs.

To celebrate turning 3, I decided to have some giveaways.  I asked my Facebook community what they wanted me to giveaway and they said a gift card to Amazon.  So, that is our first giveaway!

You must be 18 years-old to enter.  Books can only be shipped to US addresses.  The giveaway begins on 8/14/14 at 12:00 am (EST) and ends on 8/19/14 at 11:59 pm (EST).  Winner will be notified via email and announced on the blog on or about 8/20/14.  Winner has 48 hours to respond to the email with mailing information.  If the winner does not respond, a new entrant will be randomly chosen.
