Jack comes home with a bag of magic beans much to his mother’s dismay. Well, those beans grow into the largest beanstalk you have ever seen. So, Jack climbs that stalk and encounters a castle, a giant, and a golden foul. And, when Jack returns, life is looking up. Jack and the Beanstalk Learning Game
Skills: recognizing ending sounds (alternate- recognizing beginning sounds or developing vocabulary)
Materials: printable playing boards (see below) and dry beans or other playing pieces
Directions: Review the names of all the pictures. Call the ending sound for each word. Cross out the word when you call the sound. Have the kids cover the picture of the object that ends with that sound. Cover four spots in a row or the four corners to win. Or, you can play a coverall for everyone to win.
Variations:
-Work on beginning sounds instead of ending sounds.
-Build vocabulary by just calling the words.
