About the Sentence Strips
These letter sound sentence strips contain the 26 letters of the alphabet. All vowel are the short vowel sounds. Hard c and g are also highlighted. The /x/ sound is represented with an image where /x/ is heard at the end of the word. All other images represent the beginning sounds.
Preparing the Letter Sound Sentence Strips
Print, cut, and laminate for durability. The strips can be used in a pocket chart or as a floor activity. Additionally, you could staple them together to make a book.
Using the Letter and Sound Activity
To use the activity, point to the image, name it, isolate the beginning sound and say the sound being careful not to add additional phonemes. Then, name the letters.
