Looking for sound work practice with a fallish apple theme? This apple mapping sound mat can help children mapping sounds and identify letters to represent those sounds. They are perfect for beginning readers.
Using the Mapping Sound Mat
Print and laminate sound mat and cut picture cards.
Place a picture cart on the crate on the sound mat.
Use the sound boxes in the middle of each sheet to push small objects into each apple as you isolate each sound in each of the words. For example- bat- /b/ /a/ /t/. Alternatively, you can tap each apple as you isolate the sounds.
Use magnetic letters or small letter manipulatives to spell each word in the boxes.
Write the letters representing each sound you hear in each of the picture words on the apple tree. Use dry-erase markers.
Erase and repeat with a new picture card.
