Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? has delighted children for over 40 years. Today, we are sharing a Brown Bear, Brown Bear printable language activity to compliment the classic story.

The Book: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? was written by Bill Martin, Jr. and illustrated by the beloved Eric Carle. It’s a wonderful read-aloud because of the repetitive text and the vibrant illustrations. And, it’s a great book to use for learning the names of the colors.
Language Activity: Printable Game
PREPARING
This is an easy activity to prepare.
- Print out the FREE image cards.CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PRINTABLE
- Cut the images apart.
- Have a roll of Scotch tape handy.
PLAYING
To play you will tape an image to each child’s back.
Each child has to ask yes/no questions to determine what color OR animal is on their back. The other players respond with a yes or no answer to each question.
For example, on my turn I might chose to guess the animal. Here are questions I might ask.
“Does my animal swim?”
“Can I ride my animal?”
“Does my animal have a tail?”
The child should adjust her questions based on the answer from the previous question.
When the correct animal or color is guessed, play continues with the next child. You can shuffle the image cards and play over and over again.
