PREPARING

Brown Bear Brown Bear Printable Language Activity is a great way to get children asking questions and using critical thinking skills. It's the perfect activity to do after reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

This is an easy activity to prepare.

  1. Print out the FREE image cards.CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PRINTABLE
  2. Cut the images apart.
  3. Have a roll of Scotch tape handy.

PLAYING

Attach the Brown Bear Brown Bear printable to the kids' backs

To play you will tape an image to each child’s back.

Each child has to ask yes/no questions to determine what color OR animal is on their back.  The other players respond with a yes or no answer to each question.

For example, on my turn I might chose to guess the animal.  Here are questions I might ask.

“Does my animal swim?”

“Can I ride my animal?”

“Does my animal have a tail?”

The child should adjust her questions based on the answer from the previous question.

When the correct animal or color is guessed, play continues with the next child.  You can shuffle the image cards and play over and over again.

Now it’s time to see more great activities that complement the Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? book.
